I found my grandmother's film camera around the start of my first year in high-school; I had always been shooting or at least trying to since the first time I was given a camera in sixth grade. Finding this film camera, I started shooting everything as I loved the style that came from it. I wanted to be reminded of my favorites. That is where Film came from.

I had never planned for this to become a magazine or something I would share with the world. Just through a series of circumstances, it turned into this. It was in December in my AP photography class that I started developing digital media. I needed a theme for my art portfolio and decided that combining the idea of starting a magazine and the idea of needing to create worked well with each other. So, I developed the theme of creating repetition to evoke what I thought resembled each person's personality. That's not what I wanted to express throughout my work, but it can be seen elsewhere.This is where tones came from.

This project started when I first read a blonde magazine by Frank Ocean—purchased on March 14, 2022. After my first read, I fell in love with a particular set of interviews. The same questions were asked of different people, and I thought it was so exciting how people could have such different answers to all of the same questions. I wanted to ask my friends. I started asking some people, but it was just about three people and never developed into anything more. I would pick this project back up around the spring of my junior year or spring of 2023, but again, it would only turn into me interviewing a few friends. This project would not have come to fruition without my first breakup, so I have her to thank. After that breakup, I wanted to pour all my energy into something creative. Late August 2023, I had written in my notes app, “Starting tomorrow, I want to create a Google doc with 50 pages, each page with a photo of the person on a certain backdrop and the questions and explain their relation to me in life” I first had interviewed Vanessa #01. It would be a while before I interviewed anyone. Each date was listed at the top of each photo, showing how lazy I was. This is where IV’s came from.

I have many more visions to share and will continue being creative after this. I plan to continue to develop and create zines and make videos.
